Scarecrows.

In the past, I have often wandered in fields and was always taken by the sight of scarecrows. Something about scarecrows is very symbolic. But I also noticed, that despite their presence, crows always managed to screw up the harvest.

Have you ever seen a scarecrow ? The ones I saw, were usually male look alike, dressed up on a stick. From afar, they looked like puppets. But when you got close to them, they were inert black shadows, trying to scare the hell out of the crows...with no success.

When I was watching the "debate" of the "Iraqi" parliament, on SOFA, a few days back, it reminded me of scarecrows with a much ado about nothing twist to them.

CNN have a youtube video of the "debate" but they failed to show what al-Jazeera reported -- fist fights in Ze "Iraqi" parliament.

The Sadrists (and me who thought they boycotted the political process - someone call Cockburn now !) and the Fadhila party, or Fazileh in Persian, supposedly boycotted SOFA by throwing temper tantrums à la Qum. The latter parties are all Shiite ones. Mind you, so is the DAWA party of Al-Maliki/Jaafari (someone call P.Bennis now) and the Hakeem/Badr group of the SCII.

Some grotesque "women" draped in black Chadors were banging their Iranian dossiers, on the desks and the three day bearded men were leading the chorus of the scarecrows...

It finally degenerated, to my utter pleasure, in having ZEBari (only an Arab will understand the capital letters), the so-called minister of foreign affairs being ushered out by body guards and the Iranian backed Fazileh and Sadrists, smashing things up....hahahahahaha.

Masha'Allah -- praise the Lord, what democracy the US of A brought to us !

A Kurdish Zionist, addicted to Chivaz Regal and prostitutes, who has flunked all his Bachelors exams, coupled with hysterical wannabee mullahs from Qum...hahahahahaha.

Mind you Muqtada al-Sadr was calling for a 500 years occupation, as long it liberated Iraq from Ze "Tyrant". And now it has suddenly turned very patriotic and demands an immediate withdrawal ?! So we can have the Pasdarans also called the Quds force (I wonder where are they now, now that 1.5 million of Gazans are under siege. Maybe "Palestinian" pundits will have an answer), rule Baghdad single handledly.

On another note but still very related, a threesome appeared on al-Jazeera "Inside Iraq". Saleh al-Mutlak from the National Dialogue Front. Hey Saleh - what fucking front are you on about ?
ZEBari, aka Mr.Chivaz Regal.
And a woman (oh my God!) that goes by the name of Al-Mussawi, a Sadrist. An Iranian pure souche

Now, Madame or is it Mademoiselle? in full Iranian chador, said -- that during Saddam
times, they were allowed demonstrations...but not to the same extent as during the American occupation.

Ya donkey, ya Mussawi -- during Saddam times, you had no foreign occupation, you fucking idiot. Now you come and play patriotic on us, after your Mahdi men wiped out over half of Baghdad ?

Anyways, this post is not making sense anymore...a bit like "Iraqi" politics. Another scarecrow and the crows are still hovering above...

These are the Al-Jazeera English youtube videos. Mussawi has a very ugly AMERICAN accent - How come ? Do they teach her that in Isfahan ? Anyways. part I is here. It is too long and boring. And part II is here, a bit more digestible, but do keep your Alka Selzter handy.

And Mrs or is it Ms.Mussawi, there are no 40'000 Sadrists craps in prisons, but there are are over 150'000 ARAB Sunnis in Prisons, detained without charges. And I still want to know what has become of my relatives Kamel and OMAR, ya Mussawi, ya Iranian Muta'a sadrist prostitute!

But I am still burning to ask the Americans the following question :

Why is it that they institutionalized an Iranian theocracy in a "liberated" Iraq, when that same Iraq was a secular state prior to their " liberation" ?

Can any "intelligent" American (an oxymoron) answer that question ?

Oh! And I have one last question to the Shits, sorry meant Shiites.
Is there any Shiite political party that is not inherently sectarian and pro-Iran ?

Quite franckly Layla, because they are fucking assholes with a total lack of any intellect what so ever. I'm American and I'm ashamed. I'm sorry to you Layla an Iraqi woman and all Iraqis who are living in a U.S. made Hell on Earth. L'Irak n'existe plus...may she rest in peace.

Political no, but I remember Arab Shiite improvised armed groups in the South were said to have joined the national Resistance some time ago.

I think you allready know the truly sad answer to your why's ...its all about the power game ...the worldhegemony!

Iraq will never fall.. the people will allways be, there's no doubt about that.

There has never been anything to gain by being afraid and paralysed and falling a victim to
defeatism of the violence they force upon us..We know its called Management by fear ..
but we dont fear them ..we fear only our own misstakes and wrongdoings in the battleing
and political actions.

The technic used is well knowned throughout history - divide and conquer.

In the mere reflection at the costs of the so many Iraqis lives brutally taken..I will never
forget the answer madame Albright gave the correspondent Lesley Stahl on the TV-show
"60 Minutes" when asking her on a comment to if it was really needed enduring the
oil-for-food-program when in fact it resulted in 500.000 Iraqi childrens death..
..I think that is a very hard choice, but the price, we think, the price is worth it.

You can offcourse ask where do these politicians keep their gratitude?
But knowing Mrs Albright didn't hesitate the least to bomb Serbia
- a country wich actively protected sheltered and saved her as a little girl
when fleeing from the Nazis hunt on Jews during WW2 - my answer is
in the raw power position of owning the worlds all assets..nothing else!

I conclude that these people are scum of the earth while inflicting such pain to the world...
But.. NOTA BENE!..they are so because of the lack of peoples power to fight them and thier
society structures to the end .

I hope that those criminals will be taken to trial charged for their deeds...all of them ..
some how some day. And according to their own juridical expertis its very possible to
make a trial when the politics is not working in their favour.

An article that maybe gives some hope. Its about the international laws that even should apply to the USA.

"L'Irak n'esiste plus"...MY ASS.

It's like you said "les fleurs n'existent plus" just because it's wintertime !

Dear...try to look further/deeper than the present instant, huh ? We are men/women, makers of our own history, not passive animals in the hands of nature or fate.

Unless we let them say the last word, it can always be ours.

That's overly defeatist/pessimistic, ChrissyK. If Iraq was 'dead', which it certainly is not, it would have now (5 LONG years later) been "USA the 2nd" (or whatever number of US State - 52nd?), with USans (families) swarming across the sands from the north to the south of Iraq, dotted with malls, McDonalds, Walmart, Hummers and other SUVs and all the artificial US trappings, and (1) Iraqis would either not exist/be seen in Iraq or (2) Iraqis would have been put aside on 'reservations', much like what's been done to the American Indians. This is certainly not the case - the last time I saw a scene in Iraq was of thousands of IRAQIS burning an effigy of Bush in Ferdoz Square!! The current picture is that, yes, Iraq is ILLEGALLY OCCUPIED with armies crawling around LIMITED areas only, and while there's all kinds of violence and Iraqi lives have been disrupted, Iraq STILL IS and WILL ALWAYS BE Iraq for Iraqis.

To your 'may she rest in peace', I'd counter: 'May she rise again to her full glory and show the entire world the mettle she's made of'. And, that, I am pretty sure she will - as shown in many pages of history.

In solidarity, Layla.

Sometimes we say "it's finished" and wrap ourselves in "humble" disillusion in the secret hope to "appease" the adverse destiny, to move Heaven to pity, which we imagine we could not obtain if we were to show "too much" confidence in our means and chances of victory.

So it's not really "defeatism", but a primitive, apparently evergreen sort of "exorcistic" attitude, invoking ill luck in order to ward it off.

Well I thank you both for the clarification..je m'excuse. You're absolutely right, I meant it as to say the Iraq before the war doesn't exist...in the sense that so much has changed for the worst. I didn't mean that Iraq is no longer..., or that Iraqis no longer exist. As I said excuse me, my comment wasn't intended to be offensive towards anyone quite the opposite if thats possible.

There is light in the dark also outside the Iraqi people, and that is all the supportive people around the world, that do what they can do.
For example critizising our own government for being completly without any moralspine whatsoever, while not condemning the US terror and war atrossities ..

Even if you dont understand Swedish you may very well get positively infected of the work some of my countrymen did when Condolezza Rice visited Sweden.

In a speach held by Jan Myrdal ( the old fighter )We told her she was not welcome...not welcome at all..

In the speach he resembled C.Rice with the Nazicoryfe Kaltenbrunner whom while wanting to visit Sweden at wartime
was explained by the Swedish government at that time to be a persona non grata. The resemblence stops there,
he was hanged in 1946 and she is still walking.
But when the world political power situation changes she can meet the same destiny, because her crimes are of the same charachter.

Check this swedish link out I hope you will find it inspiring both by the critics in the pictures and in the texts that is in English.

But I am still burning to ask the Americans the following question :

Why is it that they institutionalized an Iranian theocracy in a "liberated" Iraq, when that same Iraq was a secular state prior to their " liberation" ?

since i am an american i will answer you.

somebody decided it was the most efficient way of dismantling iraq while still allowing for the 'appearance' of being the 'do gooders' , the deniable plausibility factor.

the US cannot remain forever in iraq without a good pretense (stealing resources is such an ugly narrative don't you agree). by choosing an untenable situation that will not appeal to americans (islam muslims..aaaaahahaha!!!!) we (americans) can position ourselves as being the only sane and resonable choice to protect all those 'good ' iraqis from..themselves!!!

plus, there is tha added bonus of having the enemy (oh, i know, technically iraqis aren't our enemy but you know what i mean) kill themselves off (allegedly w/a little help from our more 'special' forces)before everything settles down into reasonable mayhem and then we simply can't leave you because it is proof iraqs can't rule themselves because just look..left to their own devices..they chose religious fanatics!!!!

IOW, they did it because it left iraq in a clusterfuck that can be blamed on..iraq!

but we all know that except idiots who say things like this: fucking assholes with a total lack of any intellect.

it's it warm and cozy to think american war planners made a big mistake and just aren't very smart.

whoops! we're sorry. we'ld gladly turn back the clock if we could.

hahahahaha, except 'we' wouldn't.

Can any "intelligent" American (an oxymoron) answer that question ?

oh their you go against chalking it up to stupidity. the invasion was/is evil by design. it was not a mistake. is it true now they want to be so very good and really help iraqis?

oh fuck this shit.

The US on the "appearance of being a do gooder".

Hmmmm!. Only to the diehard Republicans.

On a certain prominant pro US invasion site, I read this with disbelief, quote:

"Chalk Iraq up as one of the biggest foreign policy disasters in American History and learn from the mistakes made there".

Are they actually admitting they were wrong, that Saddam should have been left to keep the peace? Admittedly, things were not perfect, but he knew what was needed to keep things under control. People were educated, women wore dresses, had a life, and so much more.

Layla's predictions are always right. I can't think of an instance they have been incorrect. If you want to know the future, just keep reading An Arab Woman Blues.

"Admittedly things were not perfect"

Angel, don't be such a hair splitter...Utopia never existed, political and social systems can never be "perfect" simply because they are made by and of men and not gods.

But within the humanly possible, Saddam Hussein did everything for his country, and did it beautifully and with selfless loving care - that's all what has to matter, not any impossible, Manichean-flavoured "perfection".

The Arabs should dare to be proud of him and follow in his footsteps without any more hesitation or stupid moralistic sophistries.

I find it really funny that you call Americans stupid...

You seem to portray yourself as an intellectual...most of them usually say that generalizations are the downfall of an argument.

"Oh! And I have one last question to the Shits, sorry meant Shiites."

That was mature. And you really proved yourself more intelligent and knowledgeable than those stupid, ignorant Americans.

(darn...I'm starting to be as bitterly sarcastic as you...I don't know why I'm so mad though. I guess I can tell the difference between the spirit of my country and the faults of my government. Which is more than I can say for ChrissyK...ashamed? wow. don't be weak.)

Still, I understand that the US entry into Iraq has caused ridiculous amounts of tragedy and for the damage done, I am truly sorry although that means little I a sure. I cannot however be sorry for being an American, because I know that our spirit holds that these things should never happen at our hand and that we stand for justice. We make mistakes, we have been given incredible international expectations and responsibility and we elected Obama to try to move us forward in that spirit and right the current wrongs in Iraq. That's what we are trying to do. I guess we have to wait to see what happens. Again, I am sorry for our government's decision to enter Iraq without a just cause.

To the
"Have you ever considered that maybe, but just maybe, deep down beneath the appearances, America is ITSELF theocratic, fundamentalist and anti-secular humanism ?"

No. Not at all. A little bit.

As far as Iran?
It's a theocracy because Bush and his administration overestimated their ability to wipe away the history and the religious beliefs of the Iraqui people and Iraqui leaders. The U.S. wanted a pure democracy, but religion is a lot
more directly tied to government in Iraq than it is in the U.S. (esp. considering the US history of getting religious freedom from England).

The Shiites are powerful and opposed Saddam. So they came to power and the US is okay with that for now. It was the easiest way to start a democracy.

I said alot. Maybe too much. Oh well.

(ChrissyK...don't sell out your country...vote, criticize, but you are still an American.)

No. Not at all. A little bit.

hello? a little ? gee ya think. AS IF the entire fundie rapture crowd hardly exists?

The U.S. wanted a pure democracy, but religion is a lot
more directly tied to government in Iraq than it is in the U.S.

delusional. i guess this idiot missed the DA scandal that pulled the lid off the justice department being stacked w/graduates of pat robertsons law school. or was it jerry faldwells.

seriously, this post is an excellent example of the dumbing down of america. way to many examples to repeat them all.

I said alot. Maybe too much. Oh well.

no honey, you were perfect. just enough to put the last nail in the coffin confirming to us how utterly clueless and dangerous your thinking is.

(ChrissyK...don't sell out your country...vote, criticize, but you are still an American.)

as IF anyone should take advice from you. don't you know the first thing about what being american is SUPPOSED to mean? dissent is patriotic. it used to be in our blood, before we became appeasing sheep led to slaughter others.

The Shiites are powerful and opposed Saddam. So they came to power

'came to power'? hahahahah with a little help from their friends spoonfeeding them all the way. if the were so powerful they wouldn't need the US/IR to prop up their corrupt puppet government, they'ld dismantle it and kick out the invaders. democracy my ass.
