A surge, a crackdown, three Iraqi women to be hanged with no legal counsel, no witnesses and no defense, Iraq's VP , tortured and to be executed, a blast in two markets with over 120 dead and over 140 wounded, the continuous siege of Haifa Street, Al Adhamyia, Karrada,Al Amariya, Al Amil,Al Yarmouk...So please tell me where to begin ? To simplify this monumental task I will start with the obvious. A blast rocks Al Shorja and Al Haraj markets in downtown Baghdad. Over 120 killed and hundreds of injured, black dense smoke covering half of Baghdad. The reports say "a predominantly Shia" area, I say horseshit. Anyone who knows downtown Baghdad knows that these two souks are nothing but a mixed commercial area. The blast happened whilst Maliki, "the shah'n'shah" of Iraq has declared not 1 minute of silence but 15 minutes of silence to reflect on the blast that rocked Samarra a year ago. 15 minutes of reflection by Maliki is a tall order indeed. Norm, normality, "normalization" as in politics...all anti-vital poisoned honey.
Trust me rather to die of cold a lonely bird in the wide empty winter skies than renounce my "wings" for the blissful tepidity of an earth worm's vegetative life.
I'm completely normal. I've learned a long time ago to go my own way. I march to the drums in my head and sing to the tunes in my heart.
I was listening to Omar Bashir's Al Andalus, when I went to your uncensored blog... I just love the sound of the Oud and the music of Iraq, but the "flamenco Arabe" that O.B. plays is also very enjoyable.
By the way, I have a sticker on my car (a 1989 vintage ) that says "Who are you to say what's normal?"
Coincidences, as I said.
Interesting post.
There is a quote
*Normal is the pathology of the average*
I am not normal either !
Lots of love
Salaam dear
Coincidencies...

"im completely normal"
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
So, have you been able to strike the blance btween playing along and being yourself in your "real" life?
Also I dont want to meddle in your afffairs, but have you ever considered writing professionally?
I think that you would make a difference. There is a red tape that goes all the way through your social, political and subjective writings, which is connected to the core of the real problems our culture and civisation are facing.
Some very astute, intelligent, well written comments here...
A breath of fresh air in a stale blogosphere...
Thank you.
Writing professionally takes energy, time and money...
I am not sure, yet another book will make a difference.
I 've read tons of books, by tons of authors...Nice to keep as names and references. Have they really shaped this world into a better place? Am not sure.
Actually am not sure of anything anymore.
you completely normal? you could have fooled me...hahahahahahaha
