100th Post.

I am celebrating my 100th post on my Uncensored Blog. Come to think of it, there is not much uncensored about it. But if you want to dance - the Fire and/or Water dance, and celebrate with me, you may need to click here.

And if you really have to comment, please do so, but spare me what does not belong to me.

Much obliged.

P.S: For future reference, and for those who are not well acquainted with blogger.com. There is an icon below "about me", called "blog list" that will give you updates on new posts, should you be interested.

I'll keep it short , you are fabulous and probably the most intelligent person I have come across. Your writing has completely opened my eyes and not just me. There is not a day that I go on the net without going to you blog, it has become a habit for me.Keep it up!

You and Iraq will always be in my prayer from America with love.

Superb, Layla. Congratulations on your 100th post - I look forward to hundreds more (although I know that this is so demanding on you ...) And, like Salam, coming to your blog first thing in the morning has become a habit. Through you, I get to 'feel' and 'touch' Iraq, and for this, I thank you most sincerely.

Just like Veronica above, too, you have made me think deeply of a word we use so much out of habit - Love. I know that I'll spend the rest of the day reflecting over your words and trying to merge my own interpretations of Love - this great influence you have over others through your writing is a precious gift, Layla. Thank you.

In solidarity.

The mere fact that you chose to blog in English rather than in your mother tongue reveals what an absurdly generous idealistic soul you truly are beneath the apparent cynicism.

You drink wine ? You immoral one ! By Ali, Hassan and Hussein, you'll be punished for your sins !
Anonymous said…
"I am a generous soul, and if anything can be useful for your own growth or the betterment of you as a person, then by all means take it. I will not charge you nor will expect anything in return."

Much abliged Layla. Thanks. I like that.

You give your soul.

What courage and strength!

Dear Veronica,

Many thanks for a touching comment coming from the heart. I am glad I managed to give you a warm good feeling in the Nordic winter season. Hope this good feeling stays with you wherever you go and lights your path.
A hug from me to you.

Dear Little Deer,

Much thanks to you for your heart warming words. I know that you have always stood by the Iraqis in an unwavering fashion and for that I will always remain grateful to you and for all the work you are doing. Bless you.

reader,

Thank you but one can be cynical and generous at the same time no ?

muqtada,

Drinking wine is better than shooting heroin don't you think ?
Besides you love your whiskey too.
Mind you they don'have good vintage wine here, can you send me some top quality from Qum by any chance ? Thank you "dear"

I meant to say, you always say you have no illusions left on the West, that it is rotten to the core and doomed to self-annihilation, but then why would you address Westerners in their language, why leave your blog sections open to their comments, why continue seeking a communication with them, if you truly thought "cynically" that all hope is lost ?

I tell you why: you are like that other one with the lion eyes, a philantropist, a saint, a dreamer, a lover of harmony born on the wrong planet.

Yankee "woman", didn't you say you won lotto recently?
Then why are you such a tight ass?
Unless maybe you are jewish.
Anonymous said…
As Mrs Pisi knows well, pain is not an alien body you can simply extirpate, but a constitutive element of our mortal condition, no more no less than joy.

With or without occupation, the life of the aware being will always be a tragedy.

Thank you for your lovely and moving comment, Layla. Whatever it is, it's a gesture/act of Love, that is, my interpretation of it! :)

In solidarity.

Layla,

The Internet is a soulless pit into which people pour trivial nonsense and uninformed opinion. Your blog is a rare and welcome exception. Your words make me feel actual emotions, standing as proof that occasionally there are real people behind the electronic smog. Thank you thank you thank you, and please keep at it.

Here's to your next 100,
Carlos

Palistinian Barbie

Nope I am not a Jew, just a "Yankee". I didn't think jews played the lottery :)
What do you have "Jew on the brain"? That's the only reason for a stupid comment like that. That or you are just jealous that I came into money. Get over it. Buy your own lottery ticket.
bARABie said…
yankee donkey, when a donkey calls me "stupid" all i do is laugh my ass off.

As for being Palestinian, bwhahahahahahaahahaha

What a retard you are.
bARABie said…
Oh and yankee donkey, learn to fxxxxxxx SPELL!

What is it with the yankee "education"?
bARABie said…
"I didn't think...."

Finally some honesty from a yank.

Your leader had dreams of becoming another Nebuchadnezzar. He was going to invade our land and reduce us all to captivity. We had to stop him.

You just go on and on barbie doll.... You think you are so clever but you are just an asshole. You ar so jealous!! hahahahaa
Anonymous said…
Oh God!!!! I meant "are" not "ar". I know you are watching Barbie Doll
bARABie said…
yankee donkey, the way you write you can't be older than 12 years.

"He was going to invade our land and reduce us all to captivity."

Saddam was obviously too nice, now if it was up to me.... well!

I love the uncensored Layla. The paintings, the music, the poetry of your English. I'd forgot the music of the oud.
Barabie. Please exercise more tolerance of people: I'm scared to comment in case I've made a spelling mistake.
Layla. I don't understand the painting. It has to be haram. It is not Iraqi or Arab, is it? Women wrapped in shrouds. Nudes on display?
bARABie said…
Steen, if English is your first language then you SHOULD be concerned about your spelling.

Even more so if that's the ONLY language one "speaks", as is the case with yankee donkey.

The Necklace of the Lost Dove reached me just in time for I've been shooing pigeons off my roof. Let's hope The Sea of Love drowns all those with hate and racism in their hearts and bones. What is reflected back to those whose love is narrow, exclusive, and limited to only their kind?

Thank you Arabwoman for one of most amazing posts I have read...which, of course, I mean only makes beautiful/painful sense from being read in relation to your other posts, loss of home (house and nation) and other rages against the racist violence of the West.

And for all of those who just come with shit in their comments to Layla,PLEASE,this is her 100th post!!Back off this one!!!Let her have that AT VERY LEAST!!!
She wasnt throwing any shit to anyone in the post, so why do you have this urge to "attack" her here in the comments section??The comment section for the post :Up in flames or a sea of love...
I REPET: for the post UP IN FLAMES OR A SEA OF LOVE....!!!
Did u get that...?hmmm im not convinced, but hey!!Lets give it a try shall we..?

Layla, I am glad I became almost a 'regular' in your blog, it's the closest I could come to have a cup of tea with you, it's a testament to one of the advantages of the internet. I do not care so much that we agree about all and everything (although we happen to, in most cases) but the human interaction, the sharing of perceptions and sentiments that are sooo very cherishable for me. I can ease to the reality that I'm a fan of you. The support and feedback as well as the inspiration that I receive from you is truly precious to me.

Assalaam, thank you and much support
We're ships sometimes lost, mostly idle in a distant port
And when I think of you and feel like a bird
there's no face to imagine, no sound to be heard
Just the trust in the goodness of human is present..
a testament to the ' transparent love', ancient and current.
And we are one and the same in the wholesome One that manifests,
a lucid brilliance in an ocean of gloom, a beacon that itself bests.

"Saddam was obviously too nice, now if it was up to me.... well!

You are truly delusional. You would not have done anymore than Saddam or anyone else has in the last 60 years. In fact, to suggest that you would smacks of megalomania.

Cheers to you !

israeli ?

What and who is an israeli ? pffft...
Layla Anwar said…
Steen,

Thank you...but do you really need to insinuate in that English fashion of yours something about Islam. You have been reading the daily star for way too long.
What would it take to turn around your deeply engrained prejudices and stereotypes short of posting some hard core porn ?
Layla Anwar said…
northershorewoman,

Thank you.
I believe this is your second visit here. I saw your other comment on the obama the booma post. Please keep commenting, you are one of the few from the North that make sense.

Veronica,

You were reading my thoughts. I was thinking to myself along the same lines. Seems even a ludicrously small celebration is not allowed in the land of grabbers.
Thank you for your thoughts and support.

a proposal,

my love is really blind...sometimes.
Sure I will marry you, conditional upon a few things :

- 1) that you get yourself a proper face and name
- 2) that I get to wear a crimson red dress on my wedding day
and last but not least
-3) that I wear a pair of good running shoes just in case...

Layla, i would love to say here is to your next 100 but considering your last 100 were borne out of an occupation, the last thing i would wish on you is another 100 of the same.

Here is to another 1000 but under different circumstances hopefully.

Barabie, thank you for saying that! I did think of it, too, and had meant to say to Layla that my wishes that the next 100 posts are about Iraq's freedom from the vermin in its midst. Insha'allah ...

I just don't understand how there can be this kind of art in Iraq at the current time. Don't be so condescending. And don't wriggle away from answering my question - it doesn't suit you. And so well versed in English culture, aren't you? I don't subscribe to the rag you mention.
Oops, hang on a mo. English culture? I hate porn and bad language. Thankfully, your blog is free of the former. I live in hope of the latter.

Barabie! Somebody's let you out of your doghouse again!
No, not only English (British style - the real McCoy) I also speak Japanese.
As a teacher of English, indeed, I should be concerned about my spelling, but let's focus a little more on what the writer is trying to say, rather than criticise the writer over the English, shall we?
bARABie said…
Steen, did somebody flush the toilet again, as your shite is permeating.
bARABie said…
"but let's focus a little more on what the writer is trying to say"

Maybe you can't but i can do both.

B for burnin'

Some nice poetic stuff here. Thank you.

Steen,

Well obviously since the Anglo American occupation, 99% of the Iraqi artists have fled Iraq.
But BEFORE that, yes we had the best school in the Middle East in plastic arts, ceramics, abstracts, fine arts, etc...

As for your hope, concerning my use of the English language, keep hoping "dear". You can't have your folks occupy and destroy us and still dictate to us what language to use... But is that not the same English impertinence that we are all use to by now ?!
